About the UCCC

The Union County Cultural Coalition (UCCC) was created in 2003 and is funded by the Oregon Cultural Trust. Our mission is to support the arts and cultural enrichment of Union County through the promotion and increased awareness of the arts and humanities.

Every year, the Coalition provides grants up to $500 each to individuals and organizations involved in cultural and heritage activities and projects. Expert panelists are appointed to a committee to judge the applications and forward recommendations to the Coalition to make the final decisions. Applications from groups are encouraged and efforts are made to fund as many applications as possible.

Since 2008, the UCCC has supported the Art Center at the Old Library, formerly known as the Union County Arts and Culture Center, now part of Art Center East (a partnership with the former Arts East Organization). Art Center East provides classes, art exhibitions, musical and other performances, and is a meeting place for various groups throughout Union County.

Two Co-Chairs lead the board of the UCCC, with a treasurer to maintain records. ArtsEast is the fiscal agent for UCCC.
